[New Vid] 2D to 3D Concept Development

Published about 1 year ago • 1 min read

Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com

I’ve just published a new Youtube video showing how I use design sketching for quick architecture concept development using Procreate on iPad and Sketchup.

In this video I’m going to break down my process of going through

  • quick and rough 2D sketching,
  • to isometric view,
  • developing a basic 3D model in Sketchup,
  • all the way to a perspective sketch and a simple presentation layout of the whole idea.

In the video, I use my custom-made Procreate brushes I’ve been developing for my work, commissioned visualizations, and book illustrations over the last 2+ years.

The brushes are designed to mimic real-life tools like pencils, pens, markers, watercolor and more as closely as possible.

If you're interested in my Procreate brushes, click here to be notified once they're released!

In the video, there’s quite a lot of techniques covered in just 10 min so please if you have any questions or if you’d appreciate more detailed explanation on any part of the process,

just hit reply to this email or let me know in the comments on Youtube, thanks!

Cheers,

David Drazil

Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com So, last Thursday - just before our last LIVE workshop - I found out by accident that my latest book has become a best-seller on Amazon.com! Honestly, I'm not sure how or when it happened (the book has been published 2.5 years ago) but it's an amazing and unexpected milestone of the journey which I want to thank you so much for! If you got the book as a paperback or a Kindle version, thanks sooo much! If you haven't got the book or have...

Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com As promised in the last email about 2023 review, I'd like to get your input on what kind of content should get created under Sketch Like an Architect this year! To learn what would serve YOU the best, I prepared a simple 2-question survey so I can plan out this year’s new courses, Youtube videos, freebies and other helpful content. I'd be super grateful if you took a few seconds of your day today to answer these two questions right here....

Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com I’ll be honest here (as always) - this year flew by much quicker than I expected and my gut feeling tells me that not that much actually got done. But while digging into my “self-coaching” notes and calendar events, I’m genuinely surprised to realize how wrong I am… Let’s unfold the more objective truth in this final recap of the most significant things that happened under the Sketch Like an Architect project in 2023. Disclaimer: I’ve...
